Abstract

The coastline of Dorset exposes a long squence of Jurassic age sedimentary rocks which, with its wealth of invertebrate, vertebrate and plant fossils. From the pioneering work of early collectors like Mary Anning onwards, the area has been a cradle of palaeontology.
