    Abstract

    All the ceramic material catalogued on the enclosed CD ROM. originated from the site of the Belfield pottery Cuttle, Prestonpans, East Lothian Scotland, and emanates from two phases of work. The first which produced by far the largest group of material, accession number (FD. 2007. 1 - 1 to 366), is housed in 30 boxes in the (NMS) National Museums Scotland ceramic store in Leith. It has been catalogued by fabric, type, and decoration, in (Microsoft Word Files 1 to 125).

    A second much smaller ceramic group, accession number (FD. 2009. 6 - 1 to 38), will be housed in the Museum store of East Lothian Museum Service in Haddington. This pottery which has also been catalogued by fabric, type, and decoration, in (Microsoft Word Files 126 to 146) was recovered during an archaeological excavation carried out by AOC Archaeology Group, (project code 21209).
